Lily Collins was at the 2013 Chanel Pre-Oscars Dinner held at Madeo Restaurant on Saturday (February 23) in Los Angeles.

She chose a Chanel navy & pink tweed shorts jumpsuit and vest from the Spring/Summer 2013 RTW Pre-Collection with a Chanel bag, and a Chanel Fine Jewelry cuff and rings.

Lily‘s film Mirror Mirror is nominated at the Oscars this year for Best Costume Design. It is up against Anna Karenina, Les Miserables, Lincoln, and Snow White and the Huntsman.

Lily Collins has told how Julia Roberts helped allay her nerves – by telling her she would never banish them completely.
The young actress plays Snow White alongside Julia in the Tarsem Singh film Mirror Mirror.

She told Glamour magazine: “Julia was so lovely, and said, ‘You know, no matter how much you’ve done this, you always have scenes that make you nervous, and psych you out the entire time’.”

Lily added: “I was hoping it would go away! But it was quite a relief to know nerves don’t just come from being new, they come from passion and really caring about something.”

The actress, who also starred in Abduction, won Glamour’s Breakthrough Woman Of The Year Award and attended the bash in central London.

Picking up her gong, she told the audience that she was proud to have “portrayed a character that’s all about inner beauty and not concerned about physical appearance”.

Lily looked absolutely stunning as she hit the red carpet at the “Mirror Mirror” premiere in Los Angeles on March 17. She wore a lovely Dolce & Gabbana dress, combined with Giuseppe Zanotti high heels, a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and H Stern jewellery. They later celebrated at the after party Lily’s birthday which was the day after on March 18. Lily was joined at the after party by her parents Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman. Lily Collins thought she was the victim of a prank when she was offered the lead role in ‘Mirror, Mirror’.

The 22-year-old actress admits she was initially ”angry” when she received a call asking her to play Princess Snow White – the biggest part she has ever had – because she was convinced it was a joke being played at her expense, and became overwhelmed with emotion when she realized the offer was genuine.

She said: ”It was April Fool’s Day, so when I got the phone call I thought someone was playing a prank on me.

”I was quite angry and thought, ‘If this is someone’s idea of a joke, it’s not funny.’ But then, when I realized it was true, I burst into tears and started screaming. It’s the role of a lifetime.”

Lily – who is the daughter of musician Phil Collins and his second wife Jill Tavelman – has always wanted to be an actress but felt it was important to complete her education before embarking on her chosen career path.

She told Hello! magazine: ”I could have started earlier than I did but I wanted to wait until I’d finished high school because I wanted to be ready, mentally and emotionally, to take on the rejection side of this business.

”You get told ‘no’ so many times that if you are the sort of person who takes ‘no’ as a deterrent, then maybe this isn’t the right profession to be in.

”I’ve always been driven, which I think is something I’ve inherited from both my parents and I wanted to put off my career until I felt ready to face all the nos.”

The international trailer of “Mirror, Mirror” has been released! The upcoming fairy tale flick was set to be released on March 16, but it was pushed back to March 30, 2012.
